honorable mention: Full Metal Panic!
Actually, I'm kind of torn for the honorable mention spot for anime. I'm trying to decide between Full Metal Panic! and Neon Genesis Evangelion, although the Eva selection is more for the amazing opening sequence and breadth of story. Let me know what you think.
